AdSense is the most popular service going around but there are some people who prefer other services like Adbrite and Clicksor. In order to find out which is the best out of these three we have to take a look at some of their features and flaws.

Adbrite

AdBrite sells ad space on websites. It allows you to set your own ad rates, and approve or reject every ad that’s purchased for your site. AdBrite enables you to sell ads directly to your visitor and also through the sales team and marketplace.

You get 75% of the sale. 50% of AdBrite’s sales are generated from marketplace and sales team, while the other half are generated from users clicking “Your Ad Here” on their publisher’s sites.

AdBrite’s ads take a day or two to show up. Their network is not as large as Adsense so it takes a few months to build a client list and you will have to wait to see the same return you may get from Adsense right away. There is a 60 day payment rule.

Clicksor

With Clicksor you can get up to 60% of the advertising clicks revenues generated from your website. It allows you to check your progress through online real time stats. You will get paid according to their fortnightly payment schedule. $50.00 is the payment threshold and payments are made either by check or PayPal. Anything under $50 will be rolled into the next period. You can also earn additional money by underlining a selection of clickable text or putting targeted contextual banner on their websites.

Some people complain that their ads load very slowly. This may be because Clicksor does not generate code in an iframe; you have to load it directly on your page. The benefits on promoting their affiliate program seem to be important than actual PPC products. Although some CLICKSOR users are not sure if affiliates of Clicksor can also use Google due to Google’s TOS violation issue, others claim to have both programs running at the same time.

AdSense

With AdSense you can setup your ads easily and they show up within few hours. The management system and support is very good. Payments are made within 30 days. There is a high payout levels on websites that are text based and content oriented. The click rates are also high.

AdSense has strict acceptance policies and people get ban occasionally for random reasons, some are understandable, some are not. The payout is low on sites that are image based. There is also a limit on the number of ads that you can have on a page.

Considering the features and flaws of the three advertising platforms it can be concluded that the best platform for you really depends on the type of website you have. For instance, content based websites may make more money with Adsense advertisements and Adbrite may be a better choice if you have an image based website.

Have you check out the Adsense for Domain in Adsense setup option ? It is currently available to publishers in North America. How it work is, basically, you are applying at Adsense to let you put ads on your parked domains. Now before visiting Adsense’s new feature page, please read on for my fresh experiences with it: today an hour ago! (Only if you wish though. KMK doesn’t do forcing )

How does it differ from other park domain sites?
Other domain parking sites cut you off some percentages per click or impressions received. But with Adsense for Domain, all earnings are 100% yours!

Is it easy to set it up?
I have to say, it is very easy and at worst it’ll be still “fairly” easy. So I’d say if you have a domain laying around of no use, use Adsense for Domain.

All you need to do to setup is, choose Adsense for Domain option through your Adsense account setup. Then add the domain and you will be given few values to edit in your DNS record. Now don’t get worried with this DNS editing thing. Adsense provides you with FULL instruction how to do so and how to do in bulk at many domain registrars around. (It took me about 1 minute to edit my 1st domain’s DNS record, and with bulk edit instruction, I did the other 12 domains in the same 1 minute!)

Then you wait about few hours for Adsense server to verify and set your domain up. And BAAAM! Your domain’s parked and you’re good to go.

There are obviously many Adsense publishers who joined the program only with the intention to earn money from the site. If you really ask them if any read the whole TOS and Agreements, most percentage of Adsense users will definitely say no. In order to help them avoid having their Adsense account banned, I will give advice from the perspective of Click Frauds at the moment.

What is Click Fraud? It is a type of internet felony targeting the pay per click advertising companies when an automated script, computer program or a person imitates as a legitimate ad clicker and clicking the ads with intention to increase earning, but not interested in the ad’s linked site. Click fraud is categorized as felony in many jurisdictions, and some concrete laws such as Penal Code 502 in California and Computer Misuse Act 1990 were established. Once detected from click fraud, either done by you or some competitor using malicious programs to attack your site, you will have to forfeit all the earnings, get your account banned and in some serious large sum actions, legal problems.

So how can you prevent click frauds?
1. Don’t click on your own ads
2. Don’t log in onto Adsense from public computers
3. Don’t log in onto Adsense from work computer
4. Don’t deal with “click exchanges”
5. Don’t tell family and friends
6. Don’t accept illegal traffic
7. Monitor your earnings and visitors

Now each of above will be introduced in details.

1. Don’t click on your own ads

Yeah this will sound like a “Duh” thing, but the truth is there are still people clicking on their own ads thinking Google will not catch them! But what they don’t know is once you signed up on Adsense, your IP address was recorded and stored in Adsense’s database for future reference. If the IP of the ad clicked and your IP matches, you’re chancing your Adsense to be banned.

You may say, “So What? Why Worry? I’m Just Taking $ From Google, No Harm Done”. Think again! You are being a theft not from Adsense from Adword advertisers, people like you who are working their way up and use their savings to earn more.

“I want to check out the site in the ad I saw on my site”. If you wish to visit a site in the ad, check the URL at the bottom of the ad and type in manually in your browser. Sometimes, there are some ads displaying other URL but redirecting to another, just ignore them, if they don’t wish to display their real site URL, why trust them.

If you accidentally clicked on your own ad (not intentionally!), you’ll be fine but it is better off to send Adsense Team a brief email saying about it and maybe an apology as well.

2. Don’t log in onto Adsense from public computers

This is because say you use the public computer such as from the Internet Cafe with IP xx.xx.xxx.xx to access your Adsense account to check the stats. You may think (apart from possibilities of your Adsense account stolen), no harm’s done. But after you log off, there’s a high possibility that another person will drop by, access the same computer, stumble upon your site somehow and click the ad on your site. “Click Fraud Alert” will show on Adsense, and you are at risk! There’s no way for you to realize that, so you can’t send Adsense apology email ahead of time!

3. Don’t log in onto Adsense from work computer

Now this has the same reason with the public computers. Most companies use a proxy server to access the internet and a proxy server has only ONE IP! You access your Adsense, some other perosn access your site, click the ad, it can be counted as click fraud. So be careful with work computers as well.

4. Don’t deal with “click exchanges”

“But IP addresses are different for Adsense to detect!”. You are wrong if you think that. Why? Say even you have 1000 people with 1000 IPs in your “network” of click exchange. The same click pattern will go on, and once Adsense realizes what is going on, your Adsense account will be banned and most likely all earnings will be charged back regardless you’ve withdrawn or not! A BIG No-NO!

5. Don’t tell family and friends

Don’t tell your friends or family members about your money making website which have ads on. Even if you tell them not to click your ads, there’s always someone very nice enough to help you earn more and click the ad to help a family member or a best friend out. And Adsense “watch dog” will note down as Click Fraud!

That is also why you don’t put ads on when you are starting a site. So you can invite anyone you want and make the site grow. Once grown you put ads and you are already earning good amount, and no one no longer cares to ” help you out”.

6. Don’t accept illegal traffic

In case you haven’t read the TOS like I have mentioned before, it is against Adsense and no excuses for this one. Don’t bring traffic to Adsense sites from traffic exchanges, PTC, PTR, auto surf, manual surf, and all similar programs. Why? The traffic your site receives is injected/fake.

7. Monitor your earnings and visitors

Check Adsense stats and earnings at least once a day (From your house), and see if there are any suspicious spikes in clicks or impressions. If so, also check in “diagnosis” section of Adsense and check your web stats and access logs to see if there’s one repeating IP dropping by your site multiple (A LOT) of time.

According to Google’s latest public message release, Google decides to pay bonus to the best publishers of its advertising network, Adsense. It will be effected in next month and all publishers who bring in the most advertisers with their sites will be given monthly, quarterly and yearly bonuses. Google’s Adsense will ensure that all the ads will comply with the strict editorial guidelines to protect you from inappropriate content. There are several things that Google does to block inappropriate content for example: competitive filters, contextual filters, editorial review, and customizable default ads.

What a great asset Adsense will be to your website. Instead of spending money to hire someone to sell banners, the aggravation by dealing with others is over. You can save thousands of dollars in advertising each year when you use the easy to use Adsense.
