But the buzz going on regarding Beyonce’s being better than Taylor Swift can’t really be true. It’s no doubt Beyonce has the better experience in the music industry because she’s been in it way longer than Taylor Swift. And I really do hope she will still win without having her experiences/talents go wasted.

Alright, now see the active duration along with numbers of awards winning and nominated for.

Beyonce Knowles:
Source

1990-Present
Won 97
Nominated 232
Percentage: 97/232 = 42%

That’s 42% in 20 years period of experience.
Quick bad calculation gives an average of 2.1% per year.

Taylor Swift:
Source

2006-Present
Won 50
Nominated 63
Percentage: 50/63

That’s 79% in 4 years period of experience.
Quick bad calculation gives an average of 19.75% per year.

You may also argue and wish to look from numbers of awards nominated only perspective.

Beyonce: 232 nominated in 20 years (11.6 nominations per year)
Taylor Swift: 63 in 4 years (15.76 nominations per year)

Understandably you may also wish to defend from the quality of awards viewpoint.

Keep in mind that that isn’t possible yet due to one being a starter, the other being an aging one in the music industry resulting in mismatch numbers of albums, singles, videos and downloads sold.

Now you want to also compare them according to your definition of talent?

No problem. But there’s a slide problem, you can’t really compared “shaking” and “guitar playing” or songs based on different backgrounds. I’ll let the commenters/readers decide!

So is Beyonce really better than Taylor Swift? Beyonce no doubt has many experiences and thus more talented but with the awards nominated and actual winning ratios compared to the duration in the industry, is she really?

Wondered by:
In my opinion, he deserves it. Both David Cook and David Archuleta gave their best shots on the stage every time they performed, and I have to admit they both are good singers. However the reason I said David Cook deserves it is because he also got better talent, and by listening to his singing and his songs, he seems to be a better fit for future production of albums and has capability to sing multiple rhythms and aspects of songs. As for David Archuleta, he seems to be capable of singing only a single rhythm, which makes him less promising for future productions. Like the judges had said before’ “If idol was a popularity contest, Archuleta would have won but, since it was a talent competition, Cook got it”.

Below are statements by David Cook and David Archuleta:

DAVID COOK

On thinking he wouldn’t win: “I didn’t think I would win. You know, the respect that I have for David Archuleta is very much past the competitor thing. He has more talent at his age than I’d know what to do with at 25. To be able to share the stage with him was an honor for me. And I kind of went into Tuesday just to have fun. And so the fact that I walk out of here as the next American Idol is not a testament to me, so much as it’s a testament to the other 23 contestants we had here this season and to everybody behind the scenes.”

On Simon Cowell’s apology: “Well, Simon’s apology came a little late for the votes. But, you know, I don’t really know that the apology was warranted. I thought what he said was an opinion, nothing more. But at no point did I feel disrespected. Yeah, I’m appreciative of the fact that he decided to apologize. An apology from Simon is a pretty rare gem.”

On his favorite performance: “The last one! I’ve been holding my breath for four months, so tonight was just about exhaling and enjoying what this show is and what it isn’t.”

On what type of record he wants to make: “A good one! That’s the kind I want to make.”

On his expectations for being the new American Idol for a year: “I actually walked into this with no expectations and I’m walking out of it with no expectations. I think this show is a springboard, but you know, it’s still a crap shoot. I could easily walk out of this arena and be just a regular Joe tomorrow. I hope that’s not the case. It’s kind of up to everybody else.”

On having his brother and mom next to him on stage after he won: “For me, it just made the whole experience full circle. In August, I stood in line in Omaha, Nebraska, at 5:30 in the morning when it was raining, with no intention of auditioning. And now I’m here, and I got to share that moment with the same two people that I stood in line with, seven, eight months ago. So, yeah, it was a nice bookend.”

DAVID ARCHULETA

On the show being over: “After last night I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, no more getting judged after each performance!’ It’s like now we get to do what we love to do and have it not be viewed as a competition and be judged right after singing. Just let me enjoy this for a second!’

On the best part of his AI experience: “I love singing and I love being able to perform whenever I get a chance. I just love what I do, and what this competition has done for me, I really appreciate it and all the fans who helped me make it this far. I just can’t believe I made it this far! I didn’t think I’d even make it past the first round! This has been such a blessing.”

On what he learned from David Cook: “Cook is like my big brother. I’ve learned so much and I’ve looked up to him since the beginning of this. He’s such a great guy. He’s really humble and down-to-earth, and I just feel like, I can’t believe I’m standing next to him. I told him, ‘I feel just so honored to be standing next to you, Cook.’ I’m just so proud of him, and I can’t believe that people decided for me to be next to him, of all people! It’s just such an honor.’

On what he wants to do next after the Idol tour: “Right now I just hope to see what happens. I really want to make an album and see how that turns out. And if music doesn’t go as far as I was hoping it would, then I will focus on completing an education. That’s really important, especially after all of this. It would be nice to be living off of it but you just never know. People can have years of performing and touring and making money that way, but they have to go back to something else afterwards. So you always have to be prepared.”

On singing with One Republic: “It was really fun working with them. I’ve been a fan of them, and the fact that I was able to share a stage with them was so cool!”

On performing with Bryan Adams: “That was really cool! Bryan Adams was someone I’ve always enjoyed listening to and I sang ‘Heaven’ during Hollywood week, and it was really neat to be able to talk to him and hear what he had to say. He is such a nice guy. I couldn’t believe how just normal he seemed.”

On being seen as a new teen idol: “I don’t really see myself as that. That’s kind of weird [laughing]. I still just think I’m David.”

It will begin on the 23rd of June and will last until the 6th of July. Once again, we will be able to observe each player’s moves and techniques: new coordinations every year!

In case you have only heard of Wimbledon but have never known what it really is, let me give you its defination:

The Championships, Wimbledon, commonly referred to as Wimbledon, is the oldest major championship in tennis. It is also regarded by many to be the most prestigious tennis championship in the world. It is held annually between late June and the beginning of July for two weeks.

This year, the Men’s and Ladies’ Singles Champions at The Wimbleton Championships will each receive £750,000, an increase of 7.1% on 2007 (£700,000)! That means the game will become as competitive or may be even more competitive than before and I can’t wait to see this year’s champions!

I have been watching the tournaments every year but have always wanted to attend in person for better closeup appreciation of the game. Watching on TV is not as entertaining as in real life because for me, I hate it when I can’t see the real moves and hits and I am not much of a fan of seeing moves captured by multiple cameras at once. If I have given a chance of Wimbledon tickets fees, travel fees, and time for travel, I would definitely attend Wimbleton.

Wimbleton tickets can be purchased now as well. Official site is selling for its real price now but if you search for Wimbledon tickets ticket partners, if you buy early you can get discounts. Centre Court and No.1 Court (respectively) seating plans structures can be found below to help you choose the best seating.

I think second rows will be the better location with better view because it is angled for you to see not only the players’ moves but also the movement of the tennis ball.

Buy your Wimbledon tickets soon and enjoy Wimbleton 2008!

Have you seen this movie? Are you ready for the second sequel or do you think the second will not be as good as the first like with most sequential movies.

In case, you do not know about Iron Man, Here’s documentary regarding this fictional character, information of the movie itself can be found at Iron Man (film), and below is the movie summary review received as of 5/5/08 from Wikipedia.

During a business trip to Afghanistan to demonstrate Stark Industries’ new weapon, the “Jericho Missile” cluster bomb, Tony Stark is attacked and kidnapped by the terrorist group the Ten Rings, which orders him to build them a version of that weapon. While pretending to do so, he and fellow captive Dr. Yinsen (Shaun Toub) build a crude but strong power armor, powered from a miniature arc reactor, a fictional power source Stark invents. The arc reactor supplies energy to an electromagnet which protects Stark’s heart from the embedded shrapnel in his chest. Dr. Yinsen is killed in the ensuing escape attempt when he stalls the guards to buy Stark enough time to program the suit. Using the built-in weapons and rockets in his suit, Stark kills several terrorists, destroys their stockpile, and launches himself into escape. He is later picked up by the Air Force. Upon returning to the United States, Stark declares that Stark Industries will no longer manufacture weapons, a move which his business partner Obadiah Stane tells him is blocked by the board members shortly after.

During his self-imposed sabbatical from public life, Stark tinkers with the design of his power suit, refining its flight capability, and builds a more powerful and reliable arc reactor, both to power his pacemaker and the suit. During his first public appearance since his kidnapping, he is shown pictures of Stark Industries weapons in the hands of terrorist groups, including the system he refused to build for them. He also discovers that Stane has been “dealing under the table” to both sides in the conflict, as well as being the one to shut Stark out of the board while he recovers. Faced with the realization of what his company has done, Stark dons the power suit and flies to Afghanistan, rescuing Yinsen’s village from the Ten Rings. In destroying their weapon stockpiles, he accidentally draws the attention of the United States Air Force and his friend and company military liaison, Lieutenant Colonel James Rhodes, who handles USAF weapons development.

Determined to make amends for his mistakes, Stark sends his assistant Pepper Potts to find the shipping records of Stark Industries, so he can track down the illicit shipments and destroy them. While hacking into the system she discovers that it was Stane who hired the Ten Rings to kill Stark, but they had reneged on the deal when they realized who the target was. She also discovers that Stane has recovered the power suit prototype (Iron Man Mk I), and has reverse engineered his own version. Stane, upon realizing Pepper’s discovery, steals Stark’s arc reactor from his chest to power his new suit, leaving Stark for dead. Using his first reactor, which was not designed to power the suit, Stark does battle with Stane in Los Angeles, defeating him when the larger arc reactor that powers Stark Industries is deliberately overloaded. Stark barely makes it out alive when his reactor almost fails completely, but reactivates. Afterwards, Stark makes his identity public at a press conference.
