Capturing an iPhone Screen
Ever thought of writing an iPhone related book with image illustrations? Need to capture a certain screen in order to proof something to someone? Initially upon the launch of the iPhone, this was not possible. People had to set up tripods and mount cameras in order to capture various screens of the iPhone. At Apple the manufacturers used a specially developed button on the iPhone to capture screens, but this was never made available to the public, but later came iPhone 2.0…
Today any iPhone user has the ability to capture any screen of the iPhone and save it as an image. Here is how this is done:
Step 1:
Find the screen you want to take an image of.
Step 2:
Hold down the ‘Home’ button and while it’s down, press the ‘Sleep/Wake’ switch at the top of the iPhone.
The screen will flash white and automatically save the screen image to the iPhone’s camera roll.
All screen recordings will be saved in jpeg format and will be 480 x 320 pixels in size. From here users will be in a position to e-mail the image, transfer it to a computer or utilize the image as an iPhone’s wallpaper.

That’s nice. I often tend to make tutorials or help files for my apps. I use Voila http://www.globaldelight.com for editing the image.
